WFDP Explores Strategic Cooperation with Somalia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports
Today, Mr. Abdiaziz Kasim Mohamud, Head of Programs of WFDP in the Federal Republic of Somalia, representing the World Fund for Development and Planning (WFDP), met with H.E. Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia, to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation in support of Somali youth.
The meeting focused on potential areas of collaboration aimed at youth empowerment, capacity building, skills development, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, leadership development, and sustainable livelihoods, with particular attention to initiatives that can create meaningful pathways for young people to participate in Somalia’s social and economic development.
The discussions also explored the potential establishment of a strategic cooperation framework between the Ministry and WFDP, through which both sides could identify and develop initiatives aligned with Somalia’s national development priorities and the broader Sustainable Development Goals.
WFDP reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside national institutions and development partners to invest in the potential of young people, strengthen their participation in development, and support a generation capable of contributing to a more resilient, prosperous, and sustainable future for Somalia.
